History
Although council records indicate the first chartering taking place in May of 1942, Scouting at St. Lawrence existed prior to that. Fr. Edwin Bertke had been a member of the troop in his youth, dating the troop into the 1930s. On top of that, historical interviews for research on Camp Friedlander revealed that Bob Doolan had been a member of Troop 302 at St. Lawrence in 1929, walking from past Holy Family because there was not a troop there.
Troop 302 was recognized as one of the catholic troops to help construct St. George Chapel at Camp Friedlander in the 1950s.
