How a troop runs
A Scout troop, ideally, is youth run, adult supported.
The troop is split into patrols, and each patrol has leaders and positions. On camping trips, the patrols share their duties amongst the members.
The patrol leaders report to the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL), and together with a few other key positions, make up the Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC).
The PLC meets to determine the direction and plans of the troop, with guidance from adults.
If scouts have questions, they should ask their patrol leader; the question can then be elevated to the SPL.
