Wise words from a happy camper

  1. Any stone in a hiking boot migrates to the location of maximum pressure.
  2. Remaining distance to a given campsite remains constant as twilight approaches.
  3. Number of mosquitoes at any given location is inversely proportional to the volume of remaining repellent.
  4. The probability of finding a latrine is one over the number of poison ivy plants per acre.
  5. The square feet of level ground available for tents equals the degrees from horizon of the setting sun.

Patrol flag making

Reminder, the meeting on 1/14 will be a patrol flag making evening.

Your patrol flag will be with you for the year and will be needed at the march camping trip to hang any totems earned from the “Are you tougher than a Scout Leader” challenges.

Challenges will feature:

Fire-building, cooking, log cutting, plant identification, animal identification, first aid, knot tying, tent building, and physical fitness.

Lock-in update

Due to leader illness, the lock-in will run from 8pm to 11pm tonight. We don’t have 2 leaders after 11. Sorry for the change.

Scoutmaster Cory has fallen ill, and Mr. Doug is working.

Mr. Terry has lined up Mr. Daniel Tracy, program director for Camp Friedlander, to be the second adult but he has to leave at 11.

12/4 update

Let’s finish the year out strong.

We’re working on knots.

We have a lock-in on 12/13.

There will not be a meeting 12/24 and 12/31.

We hope to see everyone at the meeting on Tuesday.
